Atropine, when administered via parenteral routes, stimulates central nervous system, increases cardiac and respiratory rates, causes bronco-dilatation, and depresses peristaltic motility of intestines and uterus as well as shows antispasmolitic activity. Atropine sulfate, with parasymphatolytic activity; blockages the muscarinic cholinergic receptors located in effector cells of smooth muscle, external glands, hearth muscle. Thereby, indirectly leads to formation adrenergic effects, antagonizing the muscarinic affects of acetylcholine.
These effects; decrease-stop peristaltic motility of stomach-intestines, stimulate central nervous system, dilate bronchioles, accelerate cardiac and respirator motility, relax smooth muscles, reduce salvia and bronchial secretions, mydriasis of pupilla.
